And Then There Was One...Principle

In some time in the future, an apocalypse may happen. Many things could go wrong, the volcano in America, nuclear war, intense effects of global warming, among other things. Not to scare anyone, but these are always possible, and sometimes you need to think of what would you do in these situations? What rule would you never break? For me, I would never forget my ultimate goal, to survive. In order to do that, I would have to live by the principle "Never Give Up." No matter what happens, I won't stop trying to survive. Of course, that might get me killed in the process, but at least I died trying. And in the end, I will keep my dignity, and maybe even make it through whatever happens.

Album Review - It Won't Be Soon Before Long

Maroon 5's second studio album is, in my opinion, the best work that has come from the band so far. This album was made just after the band's drummer came in to replace the old one who had wrist and shoulder injuries. The making of the album was from a different inspiration as their first album, Songs About Jane. It Won't Be Soon Before Long isn't about just one relationship, it was influenced by many different artists with different messages. Lead singer, Adam Levine, was said to have drawn influence from such artists as Kanye West, Alicia Keys, Michael Jackson, and others. The band was going for a more retro, dance beat, an album with more attitude.
The album features 12 songs, with 6 bonus tracks. The album starts with the song, If I Never See Your Face Again, a soft song with retro synths that bring a nice smooth feeling to the vocals of Adam Levine and Rihanna. The album continues with Makes Me Wonder, the first single released from the album, which continues the soft retro feeling with the same fuzzy synths and sounds. The album ends with Back at Your Door, a song about always coming back to someone. This song reaches into the retro sound, but a different style, going for a slow dance kind of song with a slow tempo and touching lyrics.
Notable songs (Personal Favorites have *) include Little of Your Time*, Won't Go Home Without You, Nothing Lasts Forever*, Goodnight Goodnight, Not Falling Apart*, Better That We Break, Until You're Over Me*, Losing My Mind, and Story.

Thankful for a Classmate

I am writing today to say thanks on a holiday that is very important to me. I value the times I have with family, friends, and food. This post in particular is about the classmates who make English better. I sit with my two good friends, Kayleigh and Phil, and I am thankful for that. Sure, we get in trouble from time to time, but it is okay, because in the end, we help each other when we really need it. And to this, I say, thanks.

Margot the Murderer

I believe that Margot subconsciously killed Francis n purpose. When you look at all the facts, she had plenty of motivation. She had probably cheated on Francis more than once, and she's never been the best of wives, along with her age catching up to her. None of this would matter if Francis were a coward, but after the most recent hunt, it seems he has changed. He's brave, and knows all of the previously stated things about Margot. He would probably be very willing to leave her and just get another wife, with him knowing that anyone would want to be with someone with so much money. I'm sure on the outside, Margot probably didn't mean to kill Francis, just save him, but this is probably just human nature. Most people try to help others in danger when they aren't, but knowing what she knows, she might've made a split second decision that split something else, which in this case was Francis' skull.

The Proctor Problem

In my opinion John Proctor is a hero. According to the dictionary, hero means, "a person, typically a man, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities." John Proctor shows many of those qualities, at least from the first part of the definition. In my opinion, a hero is someone who is brave enough to stand up for their own principles, yet respects others. When the time has come, Proctor had the chance to give in to the society to keep his life, but instead chooses to be a symbol to everyone who knows or suspects that this witchcraft. He knows that it's a fraud, and he chooses to stand up and live by his own rules. That, is a hero.

There goes the neighborhood...

When two groups come together, interesting things can happen. Chances are, each group has their own beliefs, values, and way of life, and the clashing brings both good and bad to the table. For instance, when the Europeans first came to what is now America, they met the Native Americans, a very different people. These two groups did not get along, and eventually the Europeans killed and took land and brought about what we now know to be home. But this isn't just for people who lived across an ocean. This happened with Puritans and other Europeans who most likely thought that the Puritans were crazy people who lived basic and plain lives for the sake of not being possessed or damned.
Although, on the other hand, good things can come out of it, such as merging cultures and knowledge to add up to more advanced civilizations with a more vast expanse of knowledge than before, with new technologies and beliefs coming out of it.
Although there are more examples of the good than the bad, it is possible to find advancements from this on a smaller scale, such as when two people from two different civilizations come together to create amazing things, and discover more, whether it be music, ideas, or scientific breakthroughs, death, or tragedy, so many things can come from the merging of two civilizations.
