He saw the leash, and cried.

He awoke, looked outside, and gasped.

After the last strum, they clapped.

One more step, and it's over.

But on the inside, he knew.

All that mattered, was her smile.

ReplyDeleteI interpreted as a former dog owner who looked at their old dog's leash and cried from the memories.
DeleteI really love the last one, especially how it can be interpreted into so many different forms of love.
ReplyDeleteyour last three are my favorites. the last one gives me the sense of a romantic love story that had some dark turns. awesome job with these stories.
